The City of Burlington, Colorado is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Apprentice Lineman in the Electric Department. The Electric Lineman performs technical tasks related to the construction, operation, maintenance, repair, and security of the City’s electrical energy and distribution systems and sub-transmission facilities. This position works under the direction of the Electric Supervisor and is responsible for assisting the City of Burlington in providing reliable and continuous electrical service in compliance with state and federal regulations and policies adopted by the City.
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent with formal coursework in the electrical field. Enrollment in a US-DOL approved Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program is desired and the ability to complete all Apprentice coursework within three years of employment.with one (1) year groundmen level experience preferred. Applicant must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Driver License within 30 days of employment. All offers of employment are contingent upon a satisfactory score on applicable job-related examinations, passing a pre-employment drug screen, criminal and driving background check, and employment reference checks.
Starting salary for this position is $43,000 (entry level for Level 1 Apprentice, no experience) to $75,000 (entry level for Lineman) annually, based on qualifications and experience.
