Burlington Children's Space is in search of a Developmental Support Educator to join the Young Toddler classroom. This staff member's role will be to assist and support the classroom routines as a member of the teaching team, as well as providing specific support to a 22-month-old child with Down Syndrome.
Burlington Children's Space is a play-based, Reggio Emilia inspired early education center, and this educator will work as part of a cooperative, non-hierarchical team of educators and service providers. The Young Toddler classroom has three co-teachers and a total of 8 children (ages 1.5 - 2.5 years) in the room at one time. The particular child this educator will be supporting receives off-site services in physical/occupational therapy and speech therapy. With the support of this Developmental Support Educator, the high teacher-child ratio in the Young Toddler classroom will allow all children to thrive as they learn in an accessible and safe setting.
This is a part-time position: 8:00am - 12:30pm, Monday through Thursday, for a total of 18 hours/week.
