We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Duties
- Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics on heavy trucks, trailers, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment using schematics and automotive electrical systems knowledge.
- Conduct repairs on transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, and steering systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
- Maintain and service farm machinery and construction equipment by replacing worn parts and performing preventive maintenance.
- Utilize power tools and heavy lifting techniques to disassemble and reassemble complex mechanical systems accurately.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues within vehicle systems, including automotive electrical system repair and HVAC components.
- Perform tire service, wheel alignments, and suspension repairs to ensure safety standards are met.
- Document all repairs performed with precision, adhering to safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Service Technician in a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
- Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Skilled in welding, fabrication techniques, and the use of power tools for equipment repair.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and electronic testing devices is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
