GYMNASTICS COACH

Provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in Gymnastics and Tumbling classes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Instruct gymnastic and tumbling lessons in accordance with YMCA and USAG guidelines; having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
• Be on time for job assignment and accept changes in schedule that affect assigned jobs.
• Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Convey information on gymnastics, tumbling and cheerleading programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.
• Maintain records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
• Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
• Follow all YMCA Policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Organize and put away needed class equipment. Report damaged equipment.
• Train and supervise CIT’s as assigned.
• Treat all participants equally, set a good example.
• Assist with daily cleaning duties
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certifications: CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification, and all West Bend online courses.
• Must be able to demonstrate gymnastic/tumbling instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• At least 14 years of age.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper tumbling and gymnastic techniques.
• Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
