Job Summary
Under the supervision of the site administrator, the elementary teacher will develop and lead well-organized and high-quality instruction with a designated grade TK through 5th. The elementary teacher must possess knowledge of the elementary grade-level curriculum designed to meet individual needs and must have the ability to present this curriculum effectively. The elementary teacher will approach their role embracing creativity, leadership, innovation, technology, and the application of California Content Standards. The elementary teacher will guide/supervise instructional aides, student teachers, other paraprofessionals, parent/guardian volunteers, and student volunteers when applicable. Must work cooperatively with staff, specialists, paraeducators, and the community. Should possess knowledge and experience in meeting needs of special education and multilingual learners. The elementary teacher should possess skills in classroom management and discipline, and have an interest in using technology in instruction.
