Responsibilities of the Operations/Customer Service position include, but are not restricted to, the following:
1. Work cooperatively with Management and the Burkmann team to maximize sales, production, to help grow our business.
2.Support service operations through phone communications and internal company software for product orders to Burkmann/Formax customers.
- Ensure that orders are plainly recorded and include all information pertinent to the order.
(a) Name of customer.
(b) Listing of products desired.
(c) Date at which delivery is to be made.
(d) Date at which customer is to pick up their order.
- Ensure that all products ordered are shown on the shipping ticket.
- Ensure that proper instructions regarding the load have been given to the driver.
3. Assist in answering incoming phone calls and emails.
4. Be responsible for maintaining inventory of items assigned by Management. Items shall include, but not limited to, certain formulation ingredients and certain items purchased for resale.
5. Be committed to personal and professional growth through participation in company training programs.
6. Receive and record details of any customer complaint. Any customer complaint is to be immediately reported to the whereby a mutually discussed plan of action shall be developed.
7. Maintain the integrity of inventories through accurate record keeping, receiving, invoicing, and physical inventory counts.
8. Ensure that product shipments where credit is involved are made in accordance with Burkmann’s credit policies.
9. Demonstrate dependable, punctual work habits, be neat and well-groomed and act in a courteous, professional manner.
10. Actively support the Burkmann quality assurance program by working in concert with the Nutrition Department.
11. Treat all information learned about Burkmann business transactions, its customers, or its employees with absolute confidentiality.
12. Be willing to develop a working knowledge of Burkmann products to effectively communicate with customers.
13. Ensure accuracy and accountability in handling and recording cash receipts.
14. Ensure that no materials leave the premises without a shipping ticket.
15. Maintain appropriate inventory stocking levels in the warehouse.
16. Employee acknowledges that they will be required to lifting a minimum of 50 pounds and up to100 pounds intermittently over a period of eight hours.
17. Employee acknowledges that basic reading, writing and simple arithmetic skills are required for this position.
18. Employee will work on occasion in an environment that contains grain and other feed ingredient dust particles.
19. Employee will abide by Company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
20. The Operations/Customer Service position reports to the Danville Operations Manager.
