Burke Forest Veterinary Clinic in Springfield, VA is looking for a full-time or part time Veterinary Assistant to join our unique team. Hours include Monday through Friday and rotational Saturday’s.
We are looking for someone that shares our love for dogs and cats, but also can provide exceptional customer service! We are looking for a permanent addition to our team and someone who will enjoy learning and growing professionally within our practice.
Our hospital needs a highly motivated individual who is able to multi-task and is extremely detail oriented. Applicant must be self-motivated and focused on providing exceptional customer service. Professional, articulate and organized is a must.
We provide a very high level of customer service to our clients and want to bring someone on board who can assist in a variety of roles and make our clients and their pets feel valued. Must be able to provide excellent nursing care while maintain compassion.
Tasks will include:
- Checking clients/patients in and out
- Acquiring patient history
- Maintaining medical records properly and legally
- Assisting veterinary technicians and doctors
- Drawing vaccinations
- Running in house lab work
- Preparing outside lab work for pick up/shipment
- Filling medications
- Cleaning

Required education:
- High school or equivalent
Required experience:
- Previous experience in the veterinary field is required
