Administrative Officer II/Security Officer

Hiring Range: $54,290.00 - $65,157.00 ($26.10 - $31.33 per hour)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This position trains assigned personnel within the Burke County Social Services Department on use of the software, technology, and equipment utilized by the Social Services Department. Position requires approximately 40 hours of work per workweek.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To successfully perform this position, an individual must be able to perform the following:
- Oversee front desk operations and ensure smooth daily workflows
- Establish passwords and network access for each new employee of the Social Services Department, performing password resets and deactivations when necessary
- Provide support regarding all the Social Services Department's programs, services, and systems
- Develop and maintain internal paperwork recording employees' access to the Department of Health and Human Services network.Ensure staff have appropriate system access based on roles
- Interact with and assist the Social Services Department's personnel, vendors, and external agencies and their representatives via telephone, email, or in person to provide support, information, and assistance with documents or systems maintained by, or recorded in, the Social Services Department; serves as a liaison between software vendors, Burke County's Information Technology Department, and the North Carolina Department of Social Services
- Participate in and oversee the training of assigned personnel regarding all systems used by the Social Services Department
- Evaluate and monitor software programs to ensure that they are running efficiently and accurately
- Develop written materials such as records, forms, and memoranda; ensure proper records are kept for auditing purposes
- Enforce and ensure that all policies and procedures, including federal, state, and local laws and regulations, are followed for the software file management system. Maintain compliance with federal and state-level security requirements.
- Serve as the Agency Security Officer, managing password and access controls. Complete all security reporting required by North Carolina, filing and maintaining all reports for the required time
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from a four-year college or university
- Three years’ experience in personnel, budgeting, research, or administrative management, preferably involving participation in the planning and management of a business or governmental program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Standard vision requirements, with or without corrective lenses
- Occasionally lifts up to ten (10) pounds
- Occasionally spends time standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and reaching with hands and arms
- Routinely spends time walking and engaging in repetitive motions
- Frequently spends time sitting, speaking or hearing, and using hands or fingers to handle, feel, type, or text
- Occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements (i.e., dust, heat, fumes, cold, or noise)
- Subjected to considerable mental effort and potential stressful situations during day to day operations
