Project Manager – Concrete Construction

Northern Virginia | Field‑Based (On the Road)

We’re an established concrete contractor operating throughout Northern Virginia, and we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who truly understands concrete work, takes ownership of their projects, and stays calm under pressure.

This is not a coordinator role or a desk job. It’s a hands‑on, field‑based PM role for someone who can manage multiple concrete projects, handle tough conversations professionally, and protect project margins.

About the Role

You must reside in Northern Virginia and be able to visit jobsites as needed, including daily when required. There is no daily reporting office. A company vehicle and gas card are provided. Remote administrative work is part of the role, but field presence is essential.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Full ownership of concrete projects from pre‑construction through closeout
  • Buying out awarded projects, including material procurement and subcontract coordination
  • Managing and tracking budgets, change orders, and pay applications, working closely with the accounting team
  • Reviewing plans, identifying issues early, and solving problems proactively
  • Managing schedules and day‑to‑day execution across multiple active projects
  • Communicating effectively with GCs, field crews, suppliers, and internal team members
  • Protecting project margins while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting quality and safety compliance in line with project specs, regulations, and company standards

This role requires sound judgment, an ownership mindset, and the ability to resolve issues calmly and professionally as they arise.

What We’re Looking For
  • At least 5 years of experience specifically in the concrete industry (required)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Fluent in English; bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Extremely responsive — answers phone calls and returns emails promptly
  • Calm, professional, and composed in challenging or high‑pressure situations
  • Strong communication skills and phone presence
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Technology & Systems
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Willingness to use internal project management and estimating tools (e.g., JobTread, Jobber, ZZ Estimating)
  • Comfortable coordinating within GC‑side platforms such as Procore and similar systems
  • Open to adopting and responsibly using AI‑enabled tools as part of a modern construction operation
  • (Experience with our exact tools is not required — organization and adaptability matter most.)
What This Role Is Not
  • Not entry‑level
  • Not office‑based
  • Not a coordinator position
  • Not suitable for individuals who avoid accountability or high‑responsibility roles
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $125,000 – $150,000, depending on experience
  • Company vehicle and gas card
  • Cell phone reimbursement
  • Laptop, iPad, and printer provided
  • Paid holidays
  • Two (2) weeks PTO
  • 50% health insurance reimbursement
  • Long‑term opportunity with a stable and growing concrete contractor
  • Relocation assistance negotiable for the right candidate
