What are the responsibilities and job description for the Livestock Production and Handler position at Burk Ranch Operations, LLC?
This position requires attending to live ranch animals, including sheep, cattle, horses and goats on the ranch. Duties may include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, tagging, washing, weighing, catching, loading, examining for detection of disease and injuries, assisting in birth deliveries, administering medications and vaccinations, cleaning and maintaining housing areas, and repairing fences, cattle guards, gates, and other structures or facilities used for housing, loading and penning livestock. May also monitor grazing areas for poisonous and/or noxious plants; take action to prevent livestock from consuming any identified; and assist with weed control (including noxious, invasive and poisonous plant species). May be required to use feed trucks or tractors or horses for feeding or periodic rounding of livestock.
