Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Collect, process, and clean large datasets from diverse sources, including air quality sensors, environmental reports, and client assessments.
- Develop and manage data warehousing solutions to support advanced analytics and reporting.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across all our systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with our team of environmental consultants and analysts to understand their data requirements and support their work.
- Optimise data retrieval processes and query performance to improve efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering to continuously enhance our capabilities.
- Proven experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused role.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is highly regarded.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with relational databases.
- Practical experience with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline orchestration frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Prefect).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Java.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a significant advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
