Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Prepare detailed service estimates using auto estimating software and explain repair options clearly to customers
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Upsell additional maintenance or repair services that enhance vehicle performance and safety
- Manage service writing, documentation, and invoicing accurately while handling cash transactions responsibly
- Maintain thorough knowledge of automotive diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, tire service, alignment, suspension, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, auto body repair, and other automotive repairs
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business
Skills
- Proven automotive experience with a strong understanding of automotive service management
- Extensive mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and diesel engines
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Experience in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Background in mechanic work or service technician roles is highly desirable
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of auto body repair, air brake systems, alignment procedures, shocks & struts replacement, tire services, oil changes, and other routine maintenance tasks
- Strong sales aptitude with a focus on automobile sales when appropriate
- Experience using dealertrack and xtime is a plus
