Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt paving machines to spread and level hot mix asphalt according to project specifications.
- Control paving speed, depth, width, and material distribution to achieve a smooth and uniform surface.
- Coordinate with screed operators, roller operators, truck drivers, and ground personnel to ensure efficient paving operations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
- Monitor equipment gauges and controls to ensure proper machine performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs on paving equipment.
- Follow grade stakes, string lines, and project plans to maintain proper alignment and elevation.
- Communicate effectively with crew members regarding paving operations and job site conditions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific requirements.
- Assist with other construction-related duties as assigned.
- Experience operating asphalt paving equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of paving operations and construction safety practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work extended hours, including overtime when required.
- Construction job sites with exposure to moving equipment, traffic, dust, noise, and hot asphalt materials.
- Frequent travel between project locations may be required.
- Overtime and weekend work may be necessary during peak construction seasons.
