Duties
- Develop and implement innovative catering menus tailored to client needs while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Oversee daily catering operations, ensuring timely delivery and setup for events of varying sizes and complexities
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices
- Lead, train, and supervise catering staff, including chefs, servers, and support personnel, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on excellence
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and sanitation protocols across all catering activities
- Coordinate with clients to customize menus, address special requests, and ensure overall satisfaction with services provided
- Oversee POS systems such as TOAST POS for accurate order processing and cash handling during events
- Manage budgets for catering projects, ensuring profitability while delivering outstanding customer service
- Conduct staff interviews, performance evaluations, and ongoing training & development initiatives to enhance team skills
- Collaborate with other departments such as kitchen management and event planning to ensure smooth operations from start to finish
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within the hospitality or food industry
- Extensive background in restaurant management or food service management with supervising experience in fast-paced environments
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including TOAST POS; proficient in cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory control, food safety standards, and food production processes
- Experience with banquet services, catering operations, and event coordination is highly desirable
- Exceptional leadership skills with a history of staff training & development; capable of motivating teams toward shared goals
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle client interactions professionally and efficiently
- Ability to manage shift schedules effectively while overseeing catering staff and food handling procedures
- Familiarity with budgeting principles within the food industry; adept at managing costs without compromising quality
- Hospitality management background preferred; experience working in hotel or resort settings is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in supervising multiple projects simultaneously
