Bureau Veritas is seeking a Commissioning Systems Specialist to support field execution of commissioning and retro-commissioning projects across electrical and mechanical building systems. This role is responsible for onsite testing, system validation, documentation, and coordination with project teams to ensure systems are installed and operating in accordance with design intent, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite commissioning activities including equipment startup, pre-functional and functional testing
  • Observe, document, and validate performance of building systems and equipment
  • Identify deficiencies, document issues, and support resolution with project teams
  • Interpret construction drawings, schematics, and specifications to verify field conditions
  • Maintain accurate field reports, test results, and commissioning documentation
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, vendors, and client representatives
  • Utilize commissioning platforms (e.g., CxAlloy, Facility Grid) to track and report progress

Systems Experience

Electrical: Generators, UPS, switchgear, PDUs, transformers, lighting controls, VFDs
Mechanical: Chillers, AHUs, RTUs, CRAC/CRAH units, hydronic and DX systems, pumps

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in commissioning, construction, or building systems
  • Technical knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schematics
  • Strong documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with standard software tools and field data collection platforms
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively

Preferred

  • Experience with critical facilities or data centers
  • Familiarity with NFPA and NEC standards
  • Industry certifications (CxA, CCP, BCxP, CEM, NICET) or active pursuit

Work Environment & Travel

  • Travel up to 90% to project sites across the U.S.
  • Work performed in active construction and operational environments
  • Physical requirements include climbing ladders, accessing rooftops, and lifting up to 40 lbs
