The defined vicinity for this position is: 75 miles from the Carlsbad Field Office, located at 520 E. Greene Street Carlsbad, New Mexico 88220-6292.

- This position serves as an Administrative Support Assistant in the Carlsbad Field Office withing the Bureau of Land Management.
- This position performs a full range of administrative support functions, as well as standardized and non-standardized clerical assignments.
- Clerical support to include: Customer Service, Property Procurement, Collections, Travel, Timekeeping, and Payroll.
- Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
Conditions of employment

- Broad working knowledge of the functions related to budget and finance, natural resources, travel, timekeeping/payroll, correspondence, records, collections, and public contact.
You must possess at least one or more years of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is experience that equips the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position. This experience may include all of the following:
- Performing complex administrative support with general correspondence, entering time and attendance records into an automated payroll system
- Advising in the completion of records review, inventories, and dispositions in accordance with records schedule
- Ability to perform independent judgement to the following functions in budget and finance, natural resources, travel, timekeeping/payroll, correspondence, records, collections, and public contact.
