What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Supervisor position at Bureau of Correctional Enterprises (BCE)?
This position is responsible for supervising, planning, operating and monitoring the activities of the Bureau of Correctional Enterprises (BCE) Laundry and Linen Rental in a production facility, with direct responsibility for planning, performance, production control, quality assurance, engineering, purchasing, budgeting, health and safety, specification and bid package development relevant to purchasing materials and equipment for the Laundry operation. This position provides training and supervision of Correctional Enterprise Specialists and skilled and semi-skilled Persons In Our Care workers in the operation and maintenance of a multi-shift industrial laundry industry and linen rental program, including inventory control, account services and purchasing. This position will also train workers in production floor control, inventory control, receiving, industry reports, and utilizing an ERP computer system.
Duties include sourcing and purchasing shop supplies, operation scheduling, machine maintenance, establishing production standards, provide training in fabrics cleaning, processing techniques, managing a linen rental program, directing worker pay plans, developing industry improvement and efficiency plans, and ensuring continuity of operations. The supervisor is also responsible for internal and external communications and general office administration, supervision of quality control procedures, health and safety plan development and administration, building maintenance, and coordination with the institution to meet security requirements, all in accordance with correctional security and BCE goals.
This position is in pay schedule and range 81-04 with a starting pay of $35.04 to $37.82. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period of one year is required.

This position is not eligible for remote work.
Shift: Monday- Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm, with occasional shift coverage for 2nd shift.
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
- Supervising staff in a manufacturing and/or production facility (e.g. training, assigning duties, reviewing work, scheduling, shop management, etc.)
- Providing customer service (such as: resolving customer issues, documenting transactions, communicating expectations, etc.)
- Performing production work in a manufacturing and/or production facility
- Utilizing computer applications such as ERP/MRP software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
