Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Local Box-Truck Driver to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to operate a box truck, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups while maintaining safety and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Pick up and deliver freight efficiently
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each trip
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates or issues
- Ensure cargo is secured properly during transit to prevent damage or loss
- Follow company policies and procedures to promote a safe working environment
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with hazmat and tanker endorsement or desire/ability to attain them. Burd Brothers will assets with hazmat endorsement training and costs.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles in a commercial setting is desirable
- Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and safety protocols
- Good time management skills
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and customers
