Dining Room Supervisor

Burcham Hills is an upscale senior living retirement community located in the backyard of Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. We currently have a vacancy for a Dining Room Supervisor to work a Flexible Full-Time schedule. The shift times would vary between 6:00am-2:30pm and 11:15am-7:30pm. In this position a Dining and Retail Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of the dining room personnel to provide excellent service to residents/clients, as well as maintain excellent sanitation standards and in addition to but not limited to the following duties:

• Customer Service: Oversee resident meal service.
• Sanitation: Monitor quality assurance activities and perform audits as scheduled/directed.
• Teamwork: Ensure dining room severs carry out assigned duties and communicate effectively.
• Ensure paperwork is maintained and available for staff.
• Assist in the onboarding and training of new dining room attendants.
• Assist with ensuring adequate numbers of employees are scheduled to cover shifts.
• Ensure special functions are set up according to food requests.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 1-year food service experience waiting tables, fine dining preferred (hotel, restaurant or club). Supervisory experience preferred. ServSafe and Alcohol Certified (or ability to obtain within 90 days. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and oral instructions in English. Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and extended hours as necessary.
