Role Description
This full-time position works on-site in Matthews, NC with one of our largest retail clients. The Social Media Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating, implementing, & analyzing effective social media marketing campaigns to deliver strong channel performance metrics as well as overall marketing campaign KPIs.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Paid & Organic Content:
- Develop, execute & analyze social media campaigns in all social media channels within our client's social media plan, including but not limited to: Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube and X.
- Create, present and manage a social media editorial calendar by period.
- Schedule and publish content on native platforms and through scheduling tools.
- Organize and conduct meetings with the Creative Team to facilitate brainstorming, and creative solutions for social media content needs.
- Engage & grow followers and fans, building a strong online community of loyal super fans.
- Initiate, schedule and manage all social engagements into Workfront project management system.
- Manage outside content creator partnerships.
- Create or source required copy that accompanies posts and maintain client voice and tone brand guidelines.
- Partner with various departments for at event social engagements (Sports Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Grand Openings, Store Events and Local Marketing Events etc.).
- Capture photos and videos of promotional store activity and philanthropic events to share on social media and within the company.
- Collaborate with internal departments on social media requests and provide recommendations on social media support that fit the business objectives and role of channel KPIs.
- Ensure seamless coordination of assets and program details with the Shopper Marketing Team
- Setting goals, monitoring & reporting key performance indicators of all social media support, paid and organic.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Being available outside office hours to assist or address any issues that may arise, particularly in relation to crisis communications or social media errors.
- Monitor and initiate communications with the Customer Relations Department & appropriate internal contacts on any issues on all social media channels that can negatively impact the client's brand or result in poor customer service as perceived by shoppers.
- Assist in educating and training new team members and interns in paid social strategy, creation, recipe content & database, implementation, and reporting.
- Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday hours, as well as minimal travel, may be required.
- Transcribe content to website platform in compliance with client guidelines

Education/Experience:
Minimum Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
3-5 years experience in the marketing field is required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Development software; Design software; Project Management software and Database software.
