Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and swiftly.
- Greet customers warmly, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries with professionalism.
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
- Maintain store merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented.
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Engage in product knowledge sharing to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and a positive shopping environment.
- Part-time hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an hour for lunch. No weekends, evenings or holidays.
Experience
- Prior retail sales or grocery store experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for engaging with customers and team members.
- Basic math skills are necessary for accurate cash register operations and transaction processing.
- Experience in merchandising, stock management, or product demonstrations will help you excel in this role.
