POLICY:
The role of the CNA is to assist the RN and LPN staff in maintaining patient comfort and hygiene. The CNA performs basic patient care activities under the direction of a licensed nurse.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist nursing in providing the activities of daily living to patients.
- Assist nurse with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
- Assist nurse in giving treatments and examining patients.
- Provide personal and hygiene care.
- Perform routine vital sign checks and documentation.
- Assist nursing with intake and output documentation.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully completed a state approved nurse’s aide training program.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Must be able to safely and successfully perform job related functions per policy and procedure.
- Successfully complete annual evaluation and competencies.
