Prep Cook

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and assisting cooks and chefs in delivering high-quality meals. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, follows food safety standards, and is committed to teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items.
• Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency.
• Assist cooks and chefs with meal preparation during service.
• Label, date, and properly store food according to food safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
• Restock supplies and ingredients as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Dispose of waste and keep kitchen areas organized.
• Follow all health, safety, and company policies.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.

Qualifications:

• Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow recipes and written instructions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Required Qualifications and Education:

• Strong communication skills
• High School Diploma
• Ability to multi-task in a high-stress environment
• Job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping and light lifting.
• Reliable Transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 Years kitchen experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate routinely via phone, personal contact and via computer
• Walking, standing, sitting required throughout the typical business day
