Responsibilities
- Support lead teachers and caregivers in implementing daily activities that promote learning, socialization, and emotional well-being for children
- Assist with supervising children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that stimulate development in areas such as language, motor skills, and creativity
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards
- Provide basic first aid when necessary and follow established protocols for emergencies or incidents
- Collaborate with team members to observe and document individual progress and behavior management strategies
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized care as needed
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or classroom settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques
- Strong understanding of safety procedures including first aid certification and emergency response protocols
- Compassionate caregiving skills with a focus on nurturing infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
