Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components across various heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and air brake system inspections.
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and effectively during repair or testing procedures.
- Perform alignment checks, shocks & struts replacements, HVAC system repairs, and other specialized services to maintain vehicle safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs accurately for compliance and quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a strong background in diesel mechanics.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, suspension, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools necessary for repair work.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or vehicles.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
