Corrections Officer (Full-Time)

Job Summary
The Correctional Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and orderly operation of a correctional facility. This role involves supervising inmate activities, enforcing facility rules, preventing and responding to security incidents, and ensuring a safe environment for inmates, staff, and visitors through professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and security of inmates, staff, visitors, and the facility.
• Supervise inmates, conduct counts, searches, and security inspections, and remove contraband.
• Monitor inmate behavior and health, reporting concerns and coordinating medical care as needed.
• Escort and transport inmates within the facility and to outside locations.
• Control facility access by screening and monitoring visitors.
• Respond to emergencies, alarms, and incidents using appropriate safety and conflict resolution procedures.
• Prepare and maintain accurate reports, logs, inmate records, and other required documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must possess and maintain Basic Correctional Officer certification.
