Position Summary
The Residential HVAC Service Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and supporting the service team to ensure exceptional customer experience, strong operational performance, and profitable growth. This role oversees daily service operations, technician performance, scheduling efficiency, and quality control while working closely with leadership to drive results.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations & Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop HVAC service technicians to ensure high performance and accountability
- Oversee daily service operations, including dispatch coordination, job flow, and schedule optimization
- Ensure service calls are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards
Team Development & Performance
- Conduct ride-a longs, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching
- Support technician training, certifications, and career development
- Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and customer-first service
Customer Experience
- Handle escalated customer concerns and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor customer satisfaction, callbacks, and warranty work
- Ensure technicians communicate clearly and professionally with customers
Financial & KPI Management
- Track and manage key service metrics (conversion rates, average ticket, callbacks, productivity)
- Support pricing, labor efficiency, and profitability goals
- Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and local/state regulations
- Promote safe work practices and proper documentation
Qualifications
- 5 years of HVAC service experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong technical knowledge of residential HVAC systems
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- EPA Certification required
Preferred Experience
- Prior Service Manager or Service Supervisor experience
- Experience with service management software (ServiceTitan or similar)
- Background in KPI-driven, performance-based service environments
