The Role
We are seeking a talented Product Development Specialist to join our growing team and help drive the next generation of rugged, reliable mounting solutions. In this hands-on role, you'll collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and sales to bring innovative vehicle-specific mounting products from concept through production.
Location
Hybrid-Perrysburg, Ohio
Working from our warehouse located in Perrysburg Ohio when needed. Our Perrysburg HQ is used for bringing in vehicles for testing and measuring. 3D scanning and other product development tasks are out of this office. 3D scanning parts and traveling around to local dealerships and other locations for mount test fitting, 3D scanning, and other tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fitment testing, durability/vibration testing, and real-world off-road validation to ensure products meet our "rock-solid" standard
- Conduct research on vehicle interiors, mounting locations, and user needs across Jeep, RAM, Ford, Toyota, GM, and emerging platforms
- Contribute to continuous improvement of existing product lines and identification of new opportunities in the off-road / overland / fleet markets
- Perform 3D scanning of vehicle interiors, parts, and components—both on-location (at customer/partner sites, events, or trails) and off-location (in-house or shop setups)—to capture accurate fitment data for custom designs
- Respond to product request emails from customers (many requests are for products we already offer—quickly identify matches, provide recommendations, or escalate new ideas)
- Write clear, user-friendly product installation instructions and documentation for all new products (including photos, step-by-step guides, and torque specs where applicable)
- Stay current on trends in device integration, automotive accessories, and rugged mounting tech
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small, fast-paced team
- Mechanically inclined with practical experience using hand tools
- Strong written communication skills for creating clear installation instructions
- Detail-oriented problem-solver who can work independently in a small, fast-paced team
- Proficient in metric measurements and working with both imperial and metric hardware
- Valid driver’s license-Ability to travel occasionally for on-location 3D scanning, vehicle fitment, and testing
- Strong project management and organizational skills (ability to manage multiple products simultaneously
Not Required (prefered/desired)
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or certificate program in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with 3D scanning technologies (handheld scanners, structured light, etc.)
- 3D printing prototypes and rapid prototyping techniques
- Passion for off-roading, overlanding, trucks/Jeeps, or vehicle modification is a big plus
Pay
This is a full time 1099 contract role with competitive, negotiable flat-rate compensation. As an independent contractor, you will handle your own tax obligations and benefits (including health insurance). Pay rate will be discussed based on experience during the interview process.
