Automotive Painter
The responsibility of an Automotive Painter is to perform all duties related to auto body painting to ensure World Class Customer Service.
Essential Job Duties
- Prepare color tint to match paint color
- Mix paint colors ensuring all formulations, preparations, top coating and curing meet original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommended standards for proper application sequence.
- Timing and materials usage, ensuring that all paint operations are complete, masking removed, and all prior paint-related disassembly have been assembled prior to returning the vehicle to the body technician.
Skills/Requirements
- 3 years of experience in paint operations within a collision center
- Auto Body certificate certification in refinishing preferred (I-Car)
- Ability to do consistent physical activity – reach below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, and squatting, and lifting objects over 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Work through competing priorities and adapt easily to a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
The position is based in a normal shop environment. Occasional physical activity such as reaching below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to inspect repairs, and lifting and carrying objects over 50lbs. Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with moderate levels of noise. Subject to weather conditions both inside and outside. Required to wear protective equipment when necessary. Occasional sedentary work. Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Salary : $28 - $32
