Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise janitorial staff across multiple locations, providing clear direction, training, scheduling and coverage, and ongoing support to ensure consistent service quality.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures tailored to each facility's needs, including floor care, buffing, custodial tasks, and specialized industrial or commercial cleaning.
- Conduct regular inspections of sites to verify cleanliness standards are met, identify areas for improvement, and address any issues promptly.
- Coordinate with facility managers and clients to understand specific requirements and customize cleaning plans accordingly.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning materials and tools, optimizing resources for cost-effective operations.
- Promote a safe work environment by enforcing health and safety regulations related to custodial work, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Monitor team performance through evaluations and feedback sessions; motivate staff to achieve excellence in their roles.
- Maintain detailed records of operational activities, inspections, incident reports, and supply usage for accountability and continuous improvement purposes.
Experience
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience with a strong background in commercial or industrial cleaning environments, five year minimum eperience requiered.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams within facilities maintenance or porter roles.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and other specialized techniquessuch as buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing surfaces, carpet and upholstery care and window cleaning.
- Familiarity with various cleaning methods including industrial cleaning procedures suited for large-scale or specialized environments.
- Experience in facilities maintenance tasks beyond cleaning—such as minor repairs or painting—is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop schedules, manage inventories, and oversee multiple sites simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and vendors
Qulifications
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record to drive a company provided vehicle
- Proficient in basic computer skills in orer to complete inspections, schedules, reports, etc.
- Flexibility in scheduling is requiered tin order to be compliant with special projects, training and coverage.
