Summary: The Cost Estimator is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to assess the time, money, materials, and labor required to manufacture complete BIW tooling systems.

- Quote systems based on the supplied process released from engineering.
- Design Processes using data supplied by customer to assemble BIW details per the scope of work.
- Prepare cycle time analysis, conceptual drawings, sequence of operations, and technical descriptions of machine stations and major system components.
- Set estimated margins on all quoted jobs
- Estimates costs of new equipment or capital investment necessary for production
- Collaborate with project management to negotiate changes and costs on projects, negotiates these changes with customers, when required.
- Review sketches, engineering data and other RFQ information to determine the items to be quoted.
- Recommend process improvements for estimating and implement new procedures where needed.
- Willingness to assist within other areas of the company regarding component quoting and line processing.
- Other functions as assigned by Management.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Experience in Processing a plus
- Experience quoting entire BIW tooling assemblies preferred.
- Required minimum 4 years’ experience in cost estimating.
- Required minimum 2 years’ experience within relevant industry.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to interpret engineering layouts and data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze financial data to estimate costs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task effectively
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Willing to travel locally and long-distance to customer sites to do field checks; if necessary.
- Must be able to work in a professional office environment as well as a manufacturing environment.
- May be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, and occasionally chemical fumes.
- The noise level within the manufacturing floor may be faint to moderate, and occasionally loud.
- Eyewear is mandatory while in the manufacturing area.
- Safety shoes such as hard soled shoes are to be worn in the manufacturing area.
- Must be able to work overtime when required as job permits.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work on a computer screen for long periods of time.
