About the Role:
The Lube Technician plays a critical role in maintaining vehicle performance and safety by performing routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and fluid checks. This position ensures that vehicles operate efficiently and reliably by adhering to manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The Lube Tech will interact directly with customers, providing clear communication about services performed and recommendations for additional maintenance. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship are essential to prevent vehicle breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan. Ultimately, this role supports the overall service department by preparing vehicles for more extensive repairs and contributing to customer satisfaction and retention.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and lubrication procedures.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools used in vehicle servicing.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Lube Technician or in a similar automotive service role.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or equivalent.
- Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations related to automotive fluids.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for logging service records and communicating with service advisors.
Responsibilities:
- Perform oil changes, lubrication, and fluid level checks on a variety of vehicles according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect vehicles for potential issues such as leaks, worn belts, and tire condition, and report findings to service advisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of used oils and fluids in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Assist in basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as replacing filters, topping off fluids, and rotating tires as needed.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure understanding of services performed and any additional maintenance needs.
