Asst. Credit Manager Summary:
Manage the credit and collection operations for all Canadian based and sprinkler pipe customers and support the Director of credit for company-wide credit and collections. Responsible for managing credit risk in accordance with established policies, practices and procedures that will result in maximum sales with minimum losses and the prompt conversion of receivables into cash.
Duties and Responsibilities of Asst Credit Manager:
- Evaluate credit worthiness and establish terms for new and existing customers in accordance with the Company's credit policy, recommending changes as necessary to support sales growth and limit risk.
- Perform credit analysis utilizing all available credit tools: D&B reports, trade references, Bank references, NACM reports, Financial Statements, Internet, etc.
- Maintain and update credit files every 12-18 months.
- Review and release credit holds.
- Maintain and review A/R Aging's. Collect past due accounts via phone calls and emails.
- Calculate, Analyze and Report Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) monthly for management to assess credit management efficiency.
- Apply Canadian cash receipts
- Send chargebacks for unearned discounts and/or denied claims & start claims
- Partner with Sales for credit related issues.
- Assist with setting up and activating new customer accounts
- Maintain customer master records - billing changes/updates
- Help resolve limit restraints, billing issues, claims
- Create proforma invoices for CIA and post-dated accounts
- Complete trade reference requests.
- Participate as a member of NACM (National Association of Credit Managers)
- Collaborate with the Director of Credit to develop and implement new programming solutions, evaluate and integrate new credit platforms, and address evolving reporting needs.
- Back-up the Director of Credit for U.S. credit and collections.
- Back-up the Credit Representative for USD cash application and invoicing when needed.
- Manage customer rebate programs in coordination with the sales team, ensuring proper calculation, compliance with terms and alignment with sales objectives to drive customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
- Administer, forecast and calculate all customer rebates
- Create a Master Rebate Projections file for the year, update monthly, report and forecast YTD liability on a quarterly basis to management.
- Per the terms of each agreement, calculate, verify, enter and submit the rebates for approval and payment through Concur.
- True-up rebates at year-end and record adjustment to actual.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar field
- 2 years experience in the Credit/Accounts Receivable field preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Highly detailed & goal oriented.
- Excellent analytical, written & oral communication skills
- Must be able to multitask and stay organized.
