Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday-Friday
- Typical hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Buk Restoration operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This position participates in an on-call rotation.
Evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency work is expected when scheduled.
Major storms and catastrophic events require all employees to assist wherever needed.
Position Overview
The Water Mitigation Technician is responsible for responding to emergency water losses, performing mitigation services, documenting projects, protecting customer property, and restoring structures to industry standards.
This position works directly under the Mitigation Project Manager and Lead Technician while maintaining excellent communication with homeowners, insurance adjusters, subcontractors, and office staff.
Our technicians are expected to provide exceptional customer service while completing high-quality mitigation work safely and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency water damage calls
- Perform water extraction
- Install and monitor drying equipment
- Complete moisture mapping
- Operate moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras
- Perform controlled demolition
- Install containment systems
- Perform mold remediation
- HEPA vacuuming
- Apply antimicrobial treatments
- Perform structural drying
- Remove affected building materials
- Protect homeowner belongings
- Clean job sites daily
- Photograph all work performed
- Maintain accurate job documentation
- Drive company vehicles safely
- Communicate with customers throughout the project
- Assist with fire, mold, contents, sewage, and biohazard projects when needed

Required Experience
Preferred:
- 1-3 years restoration experience
Experience with:
- Water mitigation
- Structural drying
- Mold remediation
- Controlled demolition
- Moisture mapping
- Drying equipment
- Customer service
Applicants without experience may still be considered if they have a strong work ethic and are willing to learn.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Lift 75 pounds repeatedly
- Climb ladders
- Crawl through crawlspaces
- Work in attics
- Work around mold, sewage, and contaminated materials
- Work in hot and cold environments
- Stand for extended periods
- Operate power tools and mitigation equipment
- Wear respirators and PPE for extended periods
Technology Requirements

Employment Requirements
Successful candidates must:
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Maintain a valid driver's license
- Maintain a clean driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier
- Have no felony convictions that would interfere with the responsibilities of this position
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Maintain a clean-cut, professional appearance suitable for in-home customer service
- Sign all onboarding documentation
- Comply with the Buk Restoration Employee Handbook and Employment Agreement
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations and customer information
