Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Solar Installer/Project Manager to join our expanding team for solar energy (PV) projects in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar-electrical work and solar panel installation. As a Solar Installer/Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team to schedule, measure, design and install solar panels, battery systems and related equipment on residential and small-commercial properties. Your expertise will contribute to the successful implementation of renewable energy solutions while ensuring compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.

Candidate should have at least four years of PV installation, troubleshooting and/or related solar energy technical experience. NABCEP certification is a plus.

Candidate must have a valid license and clean driving record to drive company trucks, and for own vehicle (the latter with mileage reimbursement).

Candidates must be willing to undergo background check. Company policy of no tobacco/vape, and random drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on installation and manage team to Install solar panels and associated equipment according to project specifications and schematics.
  • Work collaboratively with team members on construction sites to complete projects with quality first.
  • Ensure all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), and with local regulations and permitting requirements, as applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management regarding project progress and with customers as required.
  • Any and other varied job tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of electrical systems, proficient use of hand tools and power tools and related construction techniques, and the ability to work at heights and during varied weather conditions, and the physical ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • It is essential that candidate have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, strong communication and teamwork abilities, have positive outlook and friendly demeanor, and be passionate about pursuing a career in this growing field currently in its infancy.
  • Familiarity with solar energy installation techniques and construction site safety standards and protocols a must.
  • Ability to read and interpret roof plans and schematics related to solar panel installations.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in new installations as well as troubleshooting existing jobs as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $27.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
