What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Custodian position at Buildings and Grounds?
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES :
*Clean (exhibit good housekeeping skills), check (include: lights, windows,
doors, set alarm secure building, etc.) and secure assigned areas such
as classrooms, stairways, halls, restrooms, locker rooms as
required/directed
*Report regularly at assigned time
*Shall deviate from assigned work schedule only as requested by supervisor
*Wash windows; clean furniture, rugs, and carpeting; scrub/wax floor.
*Clear walks and entrances, shovel snow, remove ice and debris, as
needed
*Assist in setting up gym or other areas for activities such as assemblies,
programs, athletic, or intramural events as required and/or
directed
*Report, in writing to the Head Custodian, irregularities, malfunctioning
equipment, or problems or as needed
*Occasional work with equipment/devices involving electricity, natural gas,
& hydraulic fluids, such as electric floor scrubbers, & other cleaning
equipment
*Deal with students in a friendly manner, even the occasional unruly student
*Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and procedures
*Perform other duties as directed
