Position Summary
Metal Building Outlet is seeking an elite Sales Manager to lead our sales department at our Littleton headquarters. This is a high-impact leadership role designed for an industry veteran who has successfully managed sales teams generating in excess of $25 million in annual revenue.
The core of this role is the professional development of our people. You will dedicate 80% of your time to coaching, mentoring, and driving the internal sales team, ensuring they embody MBO’s commitment to "unmatched dedicated service" and "top-quality products". The remaining 20% will focus on high-level strategy, reporting, and maintaining critical relationships with our manufacturer representatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Internal Team Coaching & Management (80% Focus)
- Hands-on Mentorship: Provide direct coaching to Project Consultants and Independent PCs, focusing on closing techniques, product knowledge, and customer relationship management.
- Performance Auditing: Conduct regular reviews of recorded sales calls to provide immediate feedback on phone activity and sales strategy.
- Accountability & Culture: Establish and enforce standards for attendance, work hours, and daily "Hot Sheet" activity to move from a reactive to a proactive sales environment.
- Team Scaling: Lead the interviewing, hiring, and training of new staff to build a world-class sales organization.
- Sales Engagement: Direct sales engagement including closing and assisting in closing deals.
2. Technical Strategy & HubSpot Optimization
- CRM Mastery: Serve as the internal expert for HubSpot, ensuring all leads, quotes, and customer information are meticulously tracked and that the team utilizes the CRM to its full potential.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance reports for the President, identifying trends and areas for growth.
- Process Integrity: Ensure all electronic and printed files are complete, including necessary customer signatures and progress payment collections.
3. External Relationship & Project Management
- Manufacturer Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with manufacturer representatives to ensure product quality, resolve service limitations, and coordinate complex building orders.
- Escalation Point: Manage and resolve high-priority customer complaints and service issues through the correct channels.
Qualifications & Expert Requirements
- Revenue Leadership: Proven experience leading sales teams that have exceeded $25 million in revenue.
- Deep Industry Knowledge: Extensive background in the metal building or construction industry, including knowledge of materials and accessories.
- Strategic Reporting: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HubSpot for generating performance analytics and tracking individual sales targets.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and technical diagrams, as well as apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to project quotes.
- Communication: Exceptional listening and oral communication skills; the ability to guide a sales team through complex negotiations and technical service issues.
Supervisory Scope
- Directly manages Project Consultants, Independent PCs, and the Managerial Assistant.
- Responsible for appraising performance, rewards, and disciplining employees in accordance with company policy.
Salary : $120,000 - $200,000
