Weekend Performing Arts Teacher (Music or Dance) — Building Excellence Program

Schedule: Weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
Program: Building Excellence Weekend Program
Ages: 3–7 years old
This location has a specialized room for performing arts with a dance studio style mirror and ballet barre designed for these age groups.
About the Position
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Performing Arts Teacher to join our new Building Excellence Weekend Program! This unique opportunity allows you to design and lead your own music or dance classes for young children ages 3–7. We welcome teachers who bring energy, imagination, and a passion for nurturing creativity in early learners.
Each teacher will have the opportunity to shape their own curriculum and class themes—whether that’s exploring rhythm and melody through musical play, or introducing expressive movement and choreography through dance. Classes will focus on playful exploration, creativity, and building confidence in a fun, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and teach your own classes in either music or dance, tailored to children ages 3–7.
- Create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage imagination, movement, rhythm, and self-expression.
- Introduce foundational techniques in performance, musicality, and movement while promoting teamwork and confidence.
- Conduct interactive, high-energy classes that help children explore creativity through sound, rhythm, and motion.
- Adapt teaching methods to support different learning styles and developmental levels.
Class Details & Hours
- Each class session will run 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Each class runs for 12 weeks with one class each weekend.
- Each class will have a culminating showcase event; a recital or small music performance/'concert.'
- Teaching hours will be based on class enrollment and the number of sessions offered each weekend.
- Teachers may instruct one or multiple classes depending on interest and availability.
- These classes will be group instruction with possible one on one instruction offered in the future.
Qualifications
- Background or training in music, dance, or performing arts education.
- Experience teaching or working with young children (ages 3–7) preferred. We do offer additional training on teaching the Performing Arts to these age groups.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for fostering creativity, confidence, and joy through the arts.
