 Position Summary

The Membership Development Manager is responsible for driving membership growth and revenue by identifying and acquiring new members. This role collaborates closely with the entire BIA team to enhance member engagement, reduce attrition, and ensure a high level of service and professionalism in all interactions.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and pursue prospective members through phone, email, and in-person outreach to understand their needs and promote BIA membership.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding BIA membership and direct inquiries as appropriate.
  • Achieve an average new member revenue goal of $50K per month (approximately 25-30 memberships).
  • Prepare and distribute membership materials and correspondence to prospective members.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date member and prospect records in the database, including tracking member motivations for joining.
  • Collaborate with the entire BIA team to ensure delivery of member benefits
  • Support the growth of committees, alliances, and programs through proactive member engagement and sales efforts.
  • Attend and participate in BIA events and industry functions as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with CRM or database systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism and tact.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations related to dues, revenue tracking, and commissions.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.


Working Conditions

  • Office-based with frequent morning and evening events
