General Description:
The HVAC Instructor job is both a hands-on and classroom-based teaching position that serves adults who desire to learn more about and obtain the basic skills necessary to enter the HVAC field. The HVAC Instructor must be able to successfully connect with these participants and be able to teach them both the book knowledge and the hands-on skills for entry-level HVAC tech. The requirements involve an individual with three or more years’ experience as a HVAC tech. The HVAC Instructor must be a JOURNEYMAN and have strong knowledge of HVAC systems and installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
Daily Work Expectations:
The HVAC Instructor position is a part–time position. The schedule is two nights a week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm from January to July.
Job Requirements
· Assist students in learning proper HVAC practices.
· Ability to teach:
- knowledge and skills involving HVAC systems and installation, maintenance, and repair techniques
- appropriate use of HVAC related equipment
· Ability to plan:
- Classroom/materials budgets and needs
- Curriculum and lesson plans based on course offerings
- Maintenance projects based on student competencies
- Maintenance related projects and events
