Associate House Manager
Theatre Row, a program of the non-profit Building for the Arts NY, Inc. (BFA), is an Off-Broadway multi-theater complex in the heart of the Theater District that serves as an affordable home for performing arts organizations, and a lively, accessible venue for diverse audiences.
Located just two blocks from Times Square, Theatre Row’s six theaters, five rehearsal studios, and nine offices are rented by over 100 theatre and performance arts companies each year, bringing over 125,000 patrons to Theatre Row annually.
BFA is seeking a part time Associate House Manager (AHM). AHMs are typically scheduled for 15 to 30 hours per week. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position. AHMs report to the House Manager.
Some holidays will be required.
All employees of BFA will be required to provide proof of vaccination (or provide a medical or religious exemption) to enter the building.
Responsibilities of the Associate House Manager include but are not limited to:

Greeting patrons and directing them to their destination within the complex

Scanning tickets for ticketed events, monitoring the front door for non-ticketed events

Communicating building policies both to patrons and to the stage management and front of house teams of multiple companies

Ensuring all companies within the complex are adhering to fire safety rules and regulations

Maintain cleanliness of public areas including lobby, lounge, and bathrooms throughout public hours

Ensure patron compliance with Theatre Row and city mandated COVID-19 regulations
Required qualifications:

Customer service experience
-
Able to lift 50lbs, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time including up and down multiple sets of stairs

Proven ability to remain calm under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Familiarity with the non-profit and commercial theatre industry

NYFD F-03 Fireguard license
-
Active CPR Certification
-
Experience working at a multi-venue theatre
-
Experience working in a front of house role at a live entertainment venue
Pay: This position is paid a base rate of $19 per hour and is paid $19.50 per hour for lead shifts (AHM will become eligible for lead shifts as soon as they receive an FDNY F-03 Fireguard certification). The position does not qualify for benefits.
