What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Manager – NYC Multifamily & Mixed-Use Portfolio position at Building Equity Management LLC?
Compensation: $100,000–$115,000 base, plus year-end bonus, benefits, and potential rental brokerage commissions
Building Equity Management is seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of multifamily and mixed-use properties throughout New York City.
Qualifications
- Four-year college degree
- At least 3 years of experience as a lead Property Manager overseeing NYC multifamily and mixed-use buildings
- Strong knowledge of rent regulation and NYC agency requirements (DOB, DEP, FDNY, HPD)
- Experience supervising building staff and outside contractors
- Hands-on exposure to major capital projects, including façade restoration, roof replacement, elevator modernization, apartment renovation, and boiler upgrades
What We're Looking For
This role is for a hands-on property manager, not an administrator. You should be comfortable discussing building systems, maintenance operations, and ongoing construction projects in detail — and ready to talk shop during the interview. If hired, your time will be split between office and the field.
You'll also need strong communication skills and the professionalism to work directly with tenants, owners, contractors, consultants, and government agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish fluency a plus
- Active NY State Real Estate Salesperson License a plus (opens the door to additional income through rental brokerage)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $100,000–$115,000, based on experience
- Year-end performance bonus
- Potential rental brokerage commissions
- Generous Health insurance
- 401(k)
- Two weeks vacation to start
- Broad holiday schedule with paid time off
