Role Description The Construction Operations Manager is a full-time, office role based in Finksburg MD. This role oversees day-to-day construction operations across multiple projects, ensuring work is planned, executed, and completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Responsibilities include coordinating project teams and subcontractors, monitoring field activities, managing resource allocation, and supporting self-performed work such as earthwork, concrete, carpentry, and steel erection. The Construction Operations Manager collaborates with project managers to review contracts, track costs, implement process improvements, and resolve operational issues. The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations, and contributing to continuous improvement of construction practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Operations Management and Construction Management skills to oversee field activities and ensure project efficiency.
- Candidates should possess solid Project Management skills, including scheduling, coordination, rstimating, safety and risk management across multiple projects.
- Candidates should possess Budgeting skills to manage job costs, forecasts, and financial performance of construction projects.
- Candidates should possess Contract Negotiation skills to support fair agreements with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Relevant experience in commercial, municipal, or residential construction, including self-performed work, is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards, building codes, and quality control practices is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor field and office staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
