Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging daily activities that support early childhood development, including preschool and toddler care routines.
- Supervise children closely to ensure their safety at all times, providing attentive child supervision and behavior management.
- Foster positive relationships with children by encouraging exploration, creativity, and social interaction.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, needs, and any concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards, including first aid readiness.
- Follow mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities through individualized instruction and inclusive practices when applicable.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, including pediatric first aid, is required; additional certifications such as special education or behavior management are a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of children, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- Familiarity with daycare center operations, child supervision techniques, and mandated reporting laws.
