ICC-Certified Building Inspector Needed – Long-Term Multifamily Project (West Hartford, CT)
Builder's Protection Group (BPG) is seeking an experienced ICC-certified Building Inspector for a long-term multifamily construction quality assurance project in West Hartford, Connecticut.
This assignment is expected to last approximately 3 years and will require approximately one site visit per month throughout construction.
Project Scope
- Monthly onsite inspections of a multifamily construction project.
- Inspection of construction quality and workmanship throughout all phases of construction.
- Observation of foundations, framing, MEP installations, building envelope, balconies, windows, doors, and exterior cladding systems as construction progresses.
- Documentation of observed deficiencies, construction concerns, and potential
defect-related issues.
- Preparation of detailed inspection reports with photographs using BPG's reporting platform.
Qualifications
- Current ICC Building Inspector certification required.
- Five or more years of experience inspecting new construction projects.
- Experience with multifamily construction preferred.
- Ability to identify and document construction quality concerns across structural, architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Strong written communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent monthly inspection schedule.
Ideal Candidate
Current or former municipal building inspector, building official, plans examiner, third-party code inspector, or construction professional with extensive multifamily construction experience.
Compensation
Per-inspection compensation. Long-term assignment with anticipated monthly inspections for the duration of the project. (Note: we do not reimburse for mileage)
