Position Summary
This role is built for a highly capable industrial mechanic who enjoys solving difficult equipment problems and building solutions from scratch. The position focuses heavily on millwright work, fabrication, machining, and mechanical troubleshooting while supporting electrical and controls systems when needed.
You will serve as a senior technical resource within the maintenance team. The role is intended to grow into a future maintenance leadership position as the organization evolves.
Equipment & Systems You'll Work On
- Conveyor and material handling systems
- Saws and automated production equipment
- Hydraulic and pneumatic machinery
- Gearboxes, bearings, chains, and power transmission systems
- Custom fabricated equipment and plant improvements
Core Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical failures
- Install and rebuild gearboxes, bearings, chains, and drive systems
- Perform machinery alignment, installation, and equipment relocation
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Fabricate machine components, guards, and structural improvements
- Perform MIG, TIG, or Stick welding for repairs and fabrication
- Use machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and drill presses
- Troubleshoot motors, sensors, VFDs, and control circuits
- Serve as a senior technical resource for the maintenance team
- Mentor technicians and support complex troubleshooting
Example Projects You May Work On
- Fabricating custom brackets, guards, and machine modifications
- Rebuilding conveyor drives, bearings, and mechanical assemblies
- Machining replacement parts when OEM components are unavailable
- Designing improvements that increase equipment reliability
- Supporting installation of new machinery or production lines
Tools & Equipment You May Use
- MIG / TIG / Stick welding equipment
- Manual mills and lathes
- Drill presses, cutting tools, and fabrication equipment
- Rigging equipment for machinery installation
- Standard electrical diagnostic tools and meters
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong millwright and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Proven welding and metal fabrication experience
- Experience operating machining equipment (lathe, mill, drill press)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and fabrication prints
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and motor controls
