PURPOSE The Director, Product Marketing & Promotions will lead product marketing and national promotions. The individual will be responsible for developing a cohesive and profitable strategy to drive sales, brand preference, and customer loyalty while partnering with our field leaders to increase marketing effectiveness and strengthen supplier investments. We are looking for someone experienced in:
- Building and optimizing a B2B marketing strategy
- Product and service marketing
- Product Merchandising
- Campaign development and rollout
- Partner with the marketing leadership team to evaluate field marketing and supplier marketing needs and build a plan to optimize impact and current structure.
- Research the local field markets to understand needs and identify new opportunities. Provide strategic guidance and build marketing plans to solve problems and achieve objectives.
- Develop and manage BFS's Key Supplier Program. Cultivate strong partnerships with product manufacturers to develop unified marketing programs to achieve mutual objectives, maximize return on investment and grow supplier sponsorships.
- Create product marketing to support company initiatives, such as READY-FRAME™ and BFS Digital Tools. Collaborate with the marketing team, sales purchasing managers and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target customers.
- Manage and coach a team of field marketing team members to develop tools, services, events, and marketing materials that deliver results. Collaborate on various marketing projects across multiple stakeholders and contributors, including graphic designers, videographers, operations, marketing and PR firms and agencies, promotional groups, printers and industry associations to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Design and implement marketing strategies aligned with business targets. Generate innovative ideas to promote our brand and our products.
- Set specific marketing goals, manage budgets, measure KPIs, and calculate ROI on marketing investments. Analyze sales and marketing metrics using customer feedback to ensure field satisfaction.
- Lead and manage major corporate promotions, such as Major League Fishing and future loyalty programs.
- Oversee field pilot for Showpad, a marketing SAS tool for sales enablement.
- Partner with the merchandising department to ensure branding requirements are met and manage marketing inventory for bfsorderingcenter.com.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and milestones against project timelines.
- Regularly communicate marketing initiatives, programs, and promotions to field leadership and sales teams .
- Collaborate with internal teams and ensure brand consistency through all marketing channels.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Proven work experience as a Marketing strategist
- Demonstrable experience with marketing campaigns and web technologies (e.g. online tools and social media)
- 10 years of demonstratable field or event marketing experience, with at least three years of experience managing a marketing team of direct reports and contractors.
- 3 years of demonstrated success promoting B2B products and services solutions
- Experience with strategy, development, and execution of product or initiative launch strategies
- Leadership ability to inspire, influence, motivate, coach, and energize the team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate complex programs, processes, recommendations, and data to audiences across functions, teams, and organizational levels
- Strategic thinker with strong program and project management skills and attention to detail
- Marketing, Communications Undergraduate degree preferred. Product Management or Product Marketing background a strong plus.
- Experience with Salesforce and Pardot.
- Experience with implementing a B2B field marketing strategy.
- Ability to think strategically, forecast and drive sales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including driving results through people.
- Strong organization skills, problem-solving and project management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program.

- May be required to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds.
