Black Law P.A. | Fort Lauderdale | Full Time | In Office

Help lead the daily operations and senior paralegal support of a growing Florida law firm where accuracy, initiative, judgment, and teamwork matter every day.

About The Role

Black Law P.A. is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal - Office Manager to serve as an operational backbone for the firm while also providing substantive paralegal support in commercial litigation, corporate practice matters, entity filings, and related case work.

This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role for someone who can manage details, support attorneys, guide staff, maintain office systems, and move work forward without constant direction. The right candidate will bring strong paralegal experience, practical office administration judgment, and the confidence to help implement processes, prepare reliable work product, and keep the team organized.

The role is primarily based in the Fort Lauderdale office and will support coordination with the firm's Tampa office as needed.

About You

You are steady, detail-focused, self-directed, and accountable. You know how to take an assignment, think through the next steps, prepare a strong first product, and ask smart questions when needed.

You are comfortable being the person others rely on to keep matters, deadlines, staff, systems, and office needs moving. You bring calm leadership, strong follow-through, and the ability to work with different attorney styles while staying professional, solution-oriented, and focused on the work.

You value teamwork, ambition, attention to detail, and emotional intelligence. You take pride in doing things correctly, supporting your colleagues, and helping create a firm culture built on collaboration, accountability, precision, and progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the work of other staff members, including training, guidance, follow-up, and quality control
  • Assist with commercial litigation and corporate practice matters, including drafting, discovery shells, discovery responses, case research, and related work product
  • Prepare and file motions, complaints, and other court documents through applicable e-filing systems
  • Pull cases, conduct legal research through Lexis, and assist attorneys with matter preparation
  • Prepare hearing binders, trial boxes, exhibits, mailings, and other litigation support materials
  • Handle Sunbiz filings, corporate filings, entity setup, and related business documentation as needed
  • Enter matter costs, prepare retainer requests, and accurately input client payments in Clio
  • Support office administration, including supplies, bank runs, vendor coordination, staff meetings, software tools, and knowledge base updates
  • Coordinate with the Fort Lauderdale and Tampa offices to help maintain consistency, communication, and organization across the firm
  • Assist with additional administrative, paralegal, and firm operations needs as assigned

Requirements

  • 8 years of paralegal experience required, with experience in commercial litigation, corporate filings, or corporate practice support strongly preferred
  • Prior office management, staff oversight, training, or administrative leadership experience preferred

  • Experience with Sunbiz filings, entity formation, discovery, e-filing, trial preparation, and hearing preparation preferred
  • Experience with Clio or similar billing, matter management, or practice management software preferred
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and produce accurate work without constant supervision
  • Strong communication skills and the judgment to work effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, vendors, and court personnel
  • Professional maturity, confidentiality, sound judgment, and a strong sense of accountability
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance required for occasional office-related errands, bank runs, supply coordination, and related administrative needs
