The IT Service Center Technician Apprenticeship gives you the chance to “earn while you learn” by combining paid on-the-job training with industry-recognized online courses supported by experienced mentors. Service Center Technicians keep workplaces running by installing, repairing, and maintaining the computer systems and electronic equipment that businesses depend on.
Program Overview:
This is an 18-month, competency-based apprenticeship that prepares you for a career in IT support, computer repair, and electronic equipment servicing. You’ll learn how to troubleshoot hardware and software problems, repair devices, work directly with customers, and install or maintain equipment such as PCs, iOS devices, printers, copiers, and other office machines. This is an in-person position in Salina, KS. It is not a remote opportunity.
What You’ll Learn (On-the-Job Training):
• Listening to customers and understanding their equipment issues
• Diagnosing hardware, software, and mechanical problems
• Taking machines apart safely and putting them back together
• Repairing and restoring electronic devices
• Installing and configuring new systems, software, and cables
• Performing preventive maintenance to keep equipment running well
• Keeping track of tools, parts, and service records
• Teaching customers how to use their equipment
• Recommending solutions based on customer needs
• Working as part of a technical support team
Classroom Instruction Includes:
✔️ CompTIA ITF (optional)
✔️ CompTIA A (Core 1 & Core 2)
✔️ CompTIA Cloud Essentials
✔️ Workplace and digital skills (as needed)
✔️ 216 hours of self-paced, guided study
