Cashier/Customer Service

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional service to our customers while efficiently handling transactions. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage customer interactions will be key in creating a positive shopping experience.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and purchases.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing transactions accurately.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and care.
• Provide product demonstrations and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandising displays are appealing.
• Assist in stocking shelves and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support.
• Exhibit strong phone etiquette when addressing customer calls or inquiries.
• Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
• Foster a welcoming environment by being bilingual, if applicable, to assist a diverse customer base.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Familiarity with cashiering duties and cash handling procedures.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence.
• Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and inventory management.
• Experience with merchandising and stocking practices in a grocery store setting is advantageous.
• Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership roles within the team.
• Ability to perform product demos effectively to engage customers.
